Judge Meng Lim's Story
After fleeing Cambodia as a child during a brutal and bloody civil war, Judge Meng Lim and his family settled in Bremen, Georgia. Our community raised him and Meng went on to graduate from Bremen High School as the class valedictorian. He earned his bachelor's degree from Emory University on a scholarship.
Inspired By Tragedy
After graduating from Mercer Law, Meng returned home to open up his own practice. For years, he served as legal counsel for Haralson County and as a private attorney for families and businesses in our community. Inspired by the unsolved death of his brother - a former child soldier who enrolled in the U.S. Navy after September 11 - Meng Lim offered himself for public service and was elected overwhelmingly as our Superior Court Judge.
Fighting for Us
Not the Special Interests
During his 4 years on the bench, Judge Meng has fought for the community—not for special interests. He's not part of the "good ole boy" network and refuses to cave under pressure. Through hard work and focus, Judge Meng has completely eliminated the backlog of cases in his courtroom, so victims and parties don't have to wait for justice. Implementing technology upgrades in his courtroom, everyone now has the opportunity to present the facts when they have their day in court.
Keeping His Promise
As Tallapoosa's Superior Court Judge, Meng Lim has kept his word by honoring his Oath of Office. He is firm but fair, honest and hardworking, committed to justice and the rule of law. Judge Meng Lim is one of us, and we need to keep him on the bench fighting for our communities, our families, and our future.
